I am a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping people work through problems, overcome trauma, and find a better, more meaningful way in the world. I believe in short-term, solution-focused counselling. Your past can inform your present but it doesn't have to define you. I will help you move forward with insight, knowledge, and better understanding of who you are so that you can connect authentically with your experience and world.
We all face challenges and sometimes we need a compassionate and caring confidante to help us understand our reactions and choose differently to move forward. I firmly believe that when challenges confront us and keep us stuck in unhelpful patterns and cycles, they are opportunities to explore further for personal growth, development and change.
I am a counsellor, a mother, a step-mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a community volunteer, a change agent, and many other things. I have faced and endured many challenges and I can tell you with confidence that personal growth can occur and that the development of a strong sense of who you are is the key to a healthy and engaged life.
